The European Ecological Forecasting Initiative (EEFI) is now seeking applications for new members of the Steering Committee. We are initially looking for four new members (two of which will be early-career representatives) from diverse backgrounds to join the existing committee. The role will provide the opportunity to drive EEFI priorities and activities for a two-year period.
Expected time commitments and contributions of Steering Committee members:
- Terms are for two years
- The committee meets for 1 hour per month and hosts a monthly seminar which committee members are expected to attend (online)
- Time commitments beyond that will depend on strategic priorities and other ongoing activities (the Near-Term Strategic Plan developed by the current committee outlines near-term priorities and tasks)
Committee members will be asked to register as an official EFI member using this short form. Membership is free and by becoming a member, individuals affirm their commitment to EFI’s Shared Values and Operating Principles and Procedures and their interest in building the community of practice around ecological forecasts.

Applications are open until 30th March 2024 and voting will take place throughout April. Applicants will be informed of the outcome soon after and will be introduced to the European community at the EFI 2024 conference in June.
